Even Experts Get This Wrong: Your Values vs. What You Value 🎯

Most people—even seasoned professionals—confuse these two. But they’re not the same.

👉🏾 Your values are the guiding principles that define who you are.

👉🏾 What you value are the priorities that drive your choices at any given time.

Here’s my take:

✅ I value learning, teaching, and prosperity—they fuel my purpose and ambitions.

✅ But my values are innovative problem-solving, being dependable, and delighting customers - these shape how I operate, no matter what I pursue.

The danger? ⚠️ If what you value today doesn’t align with your values, you risk making decisions that feel empty or unsustainable.

🔹 Example: You might value financial success, but if integrity is a core value, you won’t cut corners to get there.

🔹 Another: You may value work-life balance today, but if excellence is a core value, you won’t settle for mediocrity.

💡 Ask yourself: Are you building a life around your values, or just what you value in the moment?

Let’s talk—what’s one core value that shapes the way you do business? Drop it below! ⬇️

    • One of the best ways to see what you value, is to look at the things around you at home and the office. Is it books, gadgets, books, family photos? 😊

      • 💯 It's like choosing between your favorite ice cream flavors and the core ingredients that make them delicious. Both matter, but for different reasons🍦
